Cultivating Tomorrow’s Workforce
Igniting Dreams Changing Communities
In 2014, you met us as Taste of Imokalee. In 2019, to expand our impact and reach beyond Immokalee and provide opportunities to all Collier County students, we added a non-profit programmatic side, Taste the Impact, that provides programmatic support to Taste of Immokalee. Taste of Immokalee remains a tool to educate and provide motivated high school students with hands-on experience in all aspects of business and career readiness.
Impac Cycle
1
PROGRAM: Taste the Impact programs provide underserved high school students with an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and gain the business, technical, and soft skills needed in the workforce. They have additional opportunities to earn professional certifications including the State of Florida Ready to Work credential.
2
PRODUCTS: The students put those skills to work through the student-created social business, Taste of Immokale. They gain hands-on, real-world experience while operating the business. Under the guidance or professional mentors, these young entrepreneurs create, package, market, sell, and service Taste of Immokalee products.
3
PROFITS: All profits are poured back into the nonprofit Taste the Impact to continue funding the program and providing more underserved students with the life-changing skills and college scholarships needed to break the cycle of poverty throughout our community.
